(Martin Walsh) Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz has unveiled a piece of legislation that would eliminate federal funding for those that insist on teaching Critical Race Theory.

“The federal government has no right to force a political agenda onto Americans, especially one that aims to tear down our institutions and divide us based on race,” Cruz stated.
“Critical Race Theory originated out of the critical race studies movement. A Marxist ideology that sees the world as a battle, not between the classes – as classical Marxism does – but between the races,” he added.
“Critical Race Theory preserves this way of thinking and undermines civil rights, constitutionally guaranteed equal protection before the law, and U.S. institutions at large,” he added.
Cruz’s bill, dubbed the End CRT Act, is just the latest in a series of GOP-led proposals that seek to ban critical race theory in public schools and universities.
The Texas Republican criticized Joe Biden’s reversal of a Trump-era executive order that banned “blame-focused” workplace training in federal agencies, federal contractors, and by federal grant recipients.
Over the weekend, Cruz issued a stark warning about the dangers of teaching critical race theory in schools and the military.
During an interview on “Watters’ World,” Cruz noted the growing movement across the country of parents coming out against CRT being taught in the education system.
“I would yank this license so he never taught again. You are not supposed to train elementary schools to be political activists. Parents are begging school boards, can we please stick to math, science, and history?” host Jesse Watters asked.
“But school boards across America just aren’t listening. And they are doing it at their own peril. The grassroots movement is alive and there is no stopping it. Joining me to react, senator Ted Cruz from the great state of Texas. Senator, thank you for joining “Watters’ world.” Do you think this anti-critical race theory mirrors the tea party movement that we saw maybe a little over a decade ago?” Watters asked.
“I think that’s exactly right. I think it’s waking a lot of people up. The people realizing this garbage is being taught in school, many of them are not people who have been politically active in the past,” Cruz said.
“They have been raising their kids and living their lives, and they are finding that their local school is teaching them that America is fundamentally racist, and all white people are racist. Every issue is along racial lines,” Cruz added.
“And we hate each other. That’s poison being poured into the minds of kids and I think a lot of moms and cats are ticked off by it. Jesse: They have been activated and they are not going too take it anymore. You put forth a bill to withdraw funding from any of this garbage anywhere in the United States?” he asked.

“Within the federal government. The background there, President Biden issued an executive order that prohibited federal funds going to teaching critical race theory,” he said.
“You had a lot of government agencies including the military that brings in these training outfits that teach critical race theory and try to divide people based on rice. The * issued an executive order banning that. Joe Biden came into office and one of the first things he did was repeal that executive order,” he said.
Cruz concluded: “He wants this taught in the military and the federal government. I introduced legislation saying you can’t spend a penny teaching critical race theory within the federal government. It’s not the job of the federal government to indoctrinate our employees or fighting men and women. It’s the military’s job to keep us safe and defend this nation.”
