(Nicholas Sherman) Employees at Simon & Schuster have submitted a petition demanding the publishing company not make book deals with former Trump administration officials, following one for a memoir from former Vice President Mike Pence.

They submitted the petition Monday to upper management with 216 signatures, which is 14 percent of the company’s workforce, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Employees asked the management not to treat “the Trump administration as a ‘normal’ chapter in American history.”
The letter was sent to Simon & Schuster’s CEO Jonathan Karp, and publisher Dana Canedy. The company has not commented about the petition publicly.
In thee petition letter, signers argued Pence was homophobic, racist and sexist. Pence signed a seven-figure two-book deal earlier in April.
Signers also for Simon & Schuster to cut ties with the conservative imprint Post Hill Press.

If the S&S heads comply and not ignore it like they should, then they’re pretty much announcing to the world that the inmates are running the asylum at that company, and that they are in business to please their employees instead of the customer. What position are the employees in to make demands? If they don’t like it, leave, the only courtesy would be to hold the door open so it doesn’t hit them in the ass. Sooner or later, a gut check moment will come for the admins: do “woke points” mean more than actual money?
