(Kyle Becker) White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who disclosed on Friday that she only plans to persist in her current role for the Biden administration for another year, recently admitted that the “president” is often told “don’t take questions” from the press.

Psaki made the comment in a podcast interview with David Axelrod, thev former senior adviser to Obama, on CNN’s “The Axe Files with David Axelrod.” Axelrod literally asked Psaki “about the handling of Biden.” No, seriously.
“It seems to me that you guys have done a good job of managing that, because a lot of his interactions are speeches and settings in which you have a pretty good sense going in what he’s going to say,” Axelrod said.
“In fact, a lot of times we say, ‘Don’t take questions,’ you know, but he’s going to do what he wants to do because he’s the president of the United States,” she added.
Even though Biden waited 64 days to give his first press conference, when he did give it, it was a disaster. Biden’s notes exposed that he was taking questions from selected reporters, and he actually read some answers verbatim, such as regarding foreign policy.
While in office, Biden has bizarrely remarked that he is going to get in “trouble” if he responds to certain questions.
But it wasn’t the first time that Biden has alluded to handlers ‘allowing’ him to take questions.
“I’m happy to take questions if that’s what you — I’m supposed to do, Nance,” Biden said at a press event in March. “Whatever you want me to do.”
Also in March, Biden visited a hardware store in D.C., and his handlers preemptively shooed reporters away from him.
The optics of the President of the United States being “managed” by his team and being told not to “take questions” is not a good one. Especially for a president who we are told got 81 million votes in the election — the most in American history.
