Back in June of 2016 when Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump were vying for the nation’s top spot, a secret meeting took place in a plane on the tarmac at the Phoenix airport. The young reporter who broke the story of the clandestine get-together between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Lynch, ABC 33/40 Alabama anchor Christopher Sign, was found dead in his home Saturday. Police are investigating the 45- year old’s death as a possible suicide.
Had it not been for the hard work and bravery of young Mr. Sign, the meeting may have remained hidden from the American people. Christopher Sign was the first to tell the tarmac story, later penning a book about the meeting titled, “Secret on the Tarmac”.
According to the Washington Examiner: The book “details everything that they don’t want you to know and everything they think you forgot. But Bill Clinton was on that plane for 20 minutes, and it wasn’t just about golf, grandkids, and Brexit,” Sign said on Fox & Friends in February 2020. “There’s so much that doesn’t add up.”
After the story broke, Mr. Sign left Phoenix and returned to Birmingham where he became a news anchor for ABC 33/40. In an interview on Fox, Sign claims he moved back to Birmingham prompted by death threats he received after reporting on the tarmac meeting. “My family received significant death threats shortly after breaking this story,” he said. “Credit cards hacked. You know, my children, we have code words.”

Learning of his death, Christopher Sign’s station issued this statement: “Our deepest sympathy is shared with Chris’s loving family and close friends,” said Sinclair Broadcast Group Vice President and General Manager Eric S. Land. “We have lost a revered colleague whose indelible imprint will serve forever as a hallmark of decency, honesty, and journalist integrity. We can only hope to carry on Chris’s legacy. May his memory be for blessing,” Land said.
At a time in our country where good, honest, and unbiased news is nearly impossible to find, we wake up today to find ourselves one honest journalist short.

The news is important to all people because it is where we come to know new things about the world, which leads to the development of more life goals that lead to life wisdom. The news also serves as a social connection tool, as we tend to relate to those who know about and believe the things we do. With the power of an open truth-seeking mind in hand, the individual can grow wise and the collective can prosper.
