(Stillness in the Storm Editor) Perception is not reality, although, to our brains, it is the only reality it can know. The reality we experience every day is, as I’ve called it, a kind of biological virtual reality environment. This means, what we experience every day is a tapestry of symbolic representations created by our brain, shaped by our free will choice. This also means how our brain absorbs information determines the habits, impulses, and instincts our mind pours into our consciousness every day.
Our brains map the world using the organizing power of values. If you value music, if you’re a musician, you’ll see the world through the eyes of a musician.
“When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”
Our desires are specific manifestations of values, of which, values are the more abstract intangible thing we seem to be hardwired with.
For instance, almost everyone values warmth, like sitting in the sun and standing in front of a fire on a cold day. This value almost everyone has manifests a specific desire for every individual—you’ll imagine your sunbathing spot, your warm spot near the heater. Then, that desire becomes hardwired into us as a habit.
“Don’t know what bit me but my shoulder was on fire and swelling fast. Before picture ouch! After picture about 30 minutes later after applying Pure Body drops directly to sting, and taking Pure Body spray internally and externally.”—Lisa M. Thus, our desires shape your perception, which shapes your view of the world. And these things can become automatic, so much so, we can lose ourselves in the image of who we think we are, called egoism. This is when we feel like our lives our out of control. But we can always turn things around by reinventing ourselves in the story of our lives.

The preceding information provides an overview of this self-knowledge, offering points to consider that people often don’t take the time to contemplate. With the choice to gain self-awareness, one can begin to see how their being works. With the wisdom of self-awareness, one has the tools to master their being and life in general, bringing order to chaos through navigating the challenges with the capacity for right action.
