Fake news is a term referring to false news stories that are distributed by either mainstream or alternative media outlets. Like the CIA-invented term “conspiracy theorist,” fake news is also used as a pejorative by the establishment media and the Deep State to paint anyone not in agreement with officialdom as a scam artist, sensationalist, or domestic terrorist. In effect, fake news is the new Scarlet Letter, employing social ridicule and out-group manipulations to ostracize anyone with information that could be hazardous to the agenda of the Deep State.
