Discernment is a word used quite frequently in our age, which has many different meanings and is essential for navigating through the deceptions of our world. But is all discernment the same?
Holistic Discernment is the practice of understanding all data with the goal of forming an all-inclusive tapestry of understanding. If life is like a puzzle, then we need all the pieces in order to create a complete picture. Dualistic discernment incorrectly assumes some data (puzzle pieces) can be discarded. But all data, claims, perspectives, and ideas are part of the whole truth and are crucial to forming a complete picture.
Dualistic discernment seeks only to arrive at a black and white answer (right and wrong). Holistic Discernment uses a binary process, but from there one asks questions to understand how a “wrong” or untrue data point can be integrated and understood fully. In this way, a precise and clear comprehension of reality is formed—we know why something is true or not and also know where the “untrue” information fits into the whole of reality.
If The Truth is infinite, then it encompasses all things. The adept seeks to comprehend the whole of reality by making sense of all information. Disinformation, lies, untruths, and falseness are only distortions of the whole truth. Therefore, all data correctly understood, incorporated, contemplated and discerned provides that person incredible powers of perception, knowledge, and wisdom. All that IS is part of the truth. Thus all that is must be accepted, acknowledged and contemplated in order to maximize evolution in consciousness. If not, then the trappings of dualistic or limited discernment twist and distort perception, leading to disempowerment, suffering, disease, and chaos.
