These definitions imply that any organism can be defined as an invasive species, so long as the impact on the ecosystem or environment is “outside of its natural range.” Given that meaning, arguably the most impactfully invasive species on the planet is the human being. At present, human society is the most destructive parasitic organism we know of, one that has destroyed every environment it has come in contact with. Of course, the predominant societies on Earth are westernized, and indigenous cultures that are more symbiotic are not taken into consideration in the preceding statement.
